Murder fire Avestabutik – the police release surveillance video

The perpetrator breaks the window, drenches the floor in flammable liquid and sets it on fire.
Seconds later, the entire store is in flames.
Now the police are releasing the surveillance video from the arson in the hope of the public’s help.

On the night of July 24 this year, a grocery store on Malmgatan in Avesta was completely destroyed after an arson.

The perpetrator was caught on the store’s surveillance camera and now the police are appealing for the public’s help.

– We are very interested in receiving information about who this person may be. It can be about a movement pattern, body shape or other information, says police spokesperson Sophia Jiglind in a press release.

“No detail is too small”

On the surveillance video, you can see how the perpetrator breaks the window of the entrance door, steps over the broken glass and pours some type of flammable liquid over the floor.

Then he lights a rag on fire and throws it through the broken door. He then runs from the scene while the store is in flames.

– There is no doubt that the fire was started and in order to move forward with the investigation, we now need the public’s help, says Sophia Jiglind.

The police urge tipsters to get in touch via 114 14.

“No detail is too small, let’s make the assessment if it is of interest to the investigation,” the police write.
