Murder convict was executed by lethal injection He asked for

Cantu’s execution was carried out by lethal injection at the state prison in Huntsville, Alabama, where he was serving his sentence.

HE DEFENDED THAT HE DID NOT COMMIT MURDER

Just before his execution, 50-year-old Cantu, who claimed that he did not commit the murders in the execution chamber, asked for the investigation to continue to prove that he “does not belong” in the chair he was sitting on.

Police found bloody trousers matching the victims’ DNA at Cantu’s house and found fingerprints on the magazine of the gun used in the murders.

Cantu was convicted in 2000 of killing his cousin James Mosqueda, 27, and his girlfriend Amy Kitchen, 22.

Cantu, who was sentenced to death for brutally murdering two people, claimed in his statement in court that his cousin was killed by a drug dealer with whom he had a dispute over money.
