Munitions for the war are manufactured here – 8,000 kilometers from the front

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

A year has passed since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and factories in the United States are now producing weapons under high pressure.

– Ukraine is completely dependent on the US, NATO and other global partners to maintain access to ammunition. Otherwise, Ukraine’s resilience would be weakened in a matter of weeks, said Mark F. Cancian, an analyst at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

The weapons factory in high gear

In Scranton, almost 8,000 kilometers from the front in Ukraine, the weapons factory is in full swing. Ammunition has been produced there since the 50s.

– We run two full shifts and a third. We’re up and running five, six days a week, says Richard Hansen, Scranton Army Ammunition Plant spokesperson.
