The eleven municipalities that receive a contribution are Alkmaar, Bunschoten, Den Helder, Hardenberg, Heerlen, Hengelo, Het Hogeland, Hilversum, Oldambt, Roosendaal and Sittard-Geleen.
This autumn there will be a second round in which municipalities can apply for the scheme. Independent experts will then review the submitted plans and see who is eligible for the money. The total budget for the scheme is EUR 100 million and will be spread over four submission periods.
