The statement has now been made,” says a man who is working in the garden. And that’s how the municipality of Eemnes thinks about it. Alderman Theo Reijn (DorpsBelang) previously decided that the flags must be removed by 25 July. A day after the deadline, nothing has happened. “We consciously called on the farmers to remove them themselves,” says Reijn. “We did not say: if you don’t do it, we will. They are indeed still hanging and we are now talking to the farmers’ organizations to reach an agreement and an end date.”
