Outgoings amounted respectively to 24.21 euros per capita, 21.91 and 19.92. On the other hand, lower values are recorded in Trieste (13.73), Florence (9.99) and Naples (3.24). Among the Italian cities with more than 200,000 inhabitants – it is specified – the data for Palermo are not available because the 2021 final balance is not accessible at the date of publication.
Generally – we read – spending trends have been rather stable. Fromn 2017, Messina is still the big city that spends the most among those considered. Furthermore, the cSicilian capital recorded in 2018 the highest spending value of the last six years (35.22 euros per capita). Between 2016 and 2021, only PAdova reports an increase in outgoings, which is 29%. The other municipalities, on the other hand, see a decline. The largest is that of Rome (-25%).
Taking into consideration all the Italian administrations, the average expenditure value is equal to 22.79 euros per capita. THE municipalities that spend the most are those in the Aosta Valley (83.22), Trentino (43.71) and South Tyrol (39.43) while lower spending is recorded for those in Tuscany (18.58), Veneto (18.16) and of Puglia (13.80).
