Mundys updates Sustainable Finance Framework with more ambitious commitments

ESMA will initiate supervisory action on MiFID II sustainability requirements

(Finance) – Mundys has updated its sustainable finance framework (Sustainability-Linked Financing Framework), following the certification obtained by Science Based Target initiative (SBTi), international reference body for the evaluation of companies’ decarbonisation targets.

The document establishes the full integration of sustainability into the strategy of financing of the Parent Company, which was among the first companies in Europe to equip itself with this tool. The framework cconnects financial collection with objectives industrial and development defined in the sustainability plan and in Mundys’ Climate Action Plan.

With this update, Mundys included in the Framework over 87% of direct and indirect emissions produced by the activities of its asset companies present in 24 countries.

In the new framework of sustainability they come including, for the first time in Italy, airlines. This means that i 5 airports controlled by Mundys (Fiumicino, Ciampino, Nice, Cannes, Saint Tropez) they will activate to support the process decarbonization of airlines who operate at the airports, supplying them with fuel Sustainable Aviation Fuelor by activating forms of incentive that reward i sustainable behaviors of carriers or, again, participating in strategic initiatives for promote the transition of the sector (such as the Pact for the Decarbonisation of Air Transport or the World Economic Forum Roundtable for the decarbonisation of the sector, led by Mundys).

Last April, Mundys had converted 3 billion in credit lines banking in Sustainability-Linked Loans, thanks to the adoption of the first Framework. The independent agency evaluated the update of the Framework Sustainalyticswho positively considered the robustness of the Framework and the level of challenge of the Mundys goalsconnoting them as highly ambitious. The framework update was developed with the support of Crédit Agricole CIB, as Sustainability Structuring Advisor.
