    The media company MTG buys the mobile game developer Plarium for 620 million dollars, corresponding to approximately 6.8 billion kroner. The company is behind the mobile game “Raid: Shadow legends”.

    CEO Maria Redin claims, in a press release, that the deal makes MTG a “leading European gambling group”. The company’s position in the field of mobile games is strengthened.

    Plarium has three more live games and a number under development in progress, MTG states.

  • Attempted murder – woman arrested

    A suspected attempted murder occurred in an apartment in Ljungby at 9pm on Monday evening. A woman in her 30s has been arrested. The victim is a man with whom, according to the police, she has some kind of relationship.

    – An addition has been used. The injuries are minor, but we are investigating this as an attempted murder, says Viktor Grönqvist, duty investigation officer at the police.

    The apartment has been cordoned off and is now being examined by technicians. The arrested woman will be interrogated during the night.

  • Russia and North Korea create defense pact

    North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un has ratified a defense pact with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to South Korea’s Yonhap news agency.

    The treaty applies from today and binds both countries to assist with military aid if one of them is attacked.

    The Russian news agency Tass states that the document is “exclusively peaceful and defensive in nature” and that it is not directed at third countries or “is a threat to peace and stability”.

  • Fire in apartment building

    There has been a fire in an apartment building in Härnösand.

    Police and emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 8 p.m.

    One person has suffered burns, the police say.

    The incident is being investigated as public negligence.

    A long garage is on fire in Granloholm in Sundsvall.

    According to the police, “loud bangs” are heard.

    The emergency services are on site. There are no reports of injured persons.

  • Driver’s license-less man refuses to stop driving: “He drives so well”

    The man has been repeatedly sentenced to prison for driving a car without a license in Tingsryd municipality.

    In August, he and his partner were stopped again in a car where it turned out that both did not have a driver’s license, reports say Smålandsposten.

    The partner waved off the move saying “he drives so well” and that is why she lets him continue.

    She was fined for allowing illegal driving. He was sentenced to one month in prison.

    Israel attacks targets far up in northernmost Lebanon.

    At the same time, the new Israeli defense minister rejects all thoughts of a cease-fire in Lebanon.

    “An enemy has struck a house in the town of Ain Yaacoub,” reports the state-controlled Lebanese news agency NNA, marking the northernmost Israeli attack in Lebanon to date since the offensive against the Hezbollah movement began at the end of September.

    At least eight people are said to have died in the raid.

    On Monday, Israel’s new defense minister, Israel Katz, also said that an interruption in Israel’s offensive is out of the question.

    – There will be no ceasefire and there will be no break in the attacks against Hezbollah, said Katz.

  • Harris’s first appearance since the election loss – with Biden

    On Monday, Vice President Kamala Harris made her first official appearance since the election loss.

    She accompanied President Joe Biden during the celebration of the so-called Veterans Day.

    Along with Biden, she laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington Military Cemetery.

  • Man aged 35 missing

    The police are looking for a 35-year-old man who was reported missing in Vänersborg.

    – The man was last seen at Folkets hus on the night between Friday and Saturday, says Fredrik Svedemyr, press spokesperson at the police.

    The police are now seeking tips from the public that may lead to the man being found.

    – We don’t have much to go on. That’s why we need tips from the public, says Fredrik Svedemyr.

    The man was wearing a brown jacket, jeans and a t-shirt with black and white stripes when he was last seen.

    The police do not suspect any crime in connection with the disappearance.

    An incoming passenger plane from American Fort Lauderdale was hit by gunfire when it was about to land in Haiti’s capital Port-au-Prince, writes Miami Herald.

    The Spirit Airlines plane was diverted to the Dominican Republic, where it landed safely.

    A flight attendant was hit by a bullet, but was not seriously injured.

    Last month, a UN helicopter was hit by gunfire in Port-au-Prince, which was blamed on armed gangs.

  • Iranian thinkers: “Historic opportunity to change the relationship with the United States”

    Several former Iranian politicians, editorial writers and experts suggest that the country’s regime should begin a new chapter in the relationship with Trump, write Omni citing the New York Times.

    The relationship between the US and Iran can be described as strained. Trump has expressed that he will continue his tough policy towards the country and Iran has been accused of planning to assassinate Trump in the fall.

    But during the week, the Iranian newspaper Shargh, on its editorial page, called on President Masoud Pezeshkian to “avoid past mistakes and adopt a pragmatic and multifaceted line” towards the US and Trump.

    According to the NYT, many sources within the Iranian regime have the same attitude.

    In an open letter to Pezeshkian, former top politician Hamid Aboutalebi also writes that the country must not “miss out on this historic opportunity to change the relationship with the United States”.

  • The Netherlands introduces border controls

    The Netherlands is introducing border controls against Belgium and Germany, Migration Minister Marjolein Faber announces.

    The controls will apply from December 9 and six months ahead, she says according to Reuters.

    Faber, who belongs to Geert Wilder’s anti-immigration PVV party, says the checks are part of the country’s crackdown on migrants.

  • Ferry has run aground

    The Holmö ferry has run aground outside the harbor at Holmön, reports Västerbottens-Kuriren.

    The island is located in Norra Kvarken, outside Umeå.

    Both the Maritime Administration’s pilot boat and the Maritime Rescue Society have been alerted to free the ferry.

    – We currently have no leakage, says Christel Englund, rescue leader at the Maritime and Air Rescue Centre, to Expressen.

    There must be five passengers on board the boat.

    A man has been found injured in a restaurant after a shooting at Kattarpstorget in Malmö.

    The man has now been taken to hospital by ambulance. There is no information on the state of the damage.

    No one has been arrested.

  • Alarm about the smog: 11 million children at risk

    A record thick smog has been over eastern Pakistan since a month ago, reports CNN.

    Schools and public buildings have been closed due to the pollution and millions of lives are said to be at risk.

    Hospitals have been flooded with affected patients.

    The concern is especially great for children because their bodies, organs and immune systems are not yet fully developed.

    – Air pollution and warmer temperatures lead to life-threatening dangers for children, including breathing difficulties and a higher risk of infectious diseases, says Save the Children’s Pakistan Director Khuram Gondal.
