(Finance) – The international rating agency MSCI ESG Ratings, specializing in sustainability and governance practices, has the rating was further raised from Atlantia, holding listed on Euronext Milan focused on infrastructures and services for mobility, from “BBB” to “AA”. With this advancement, Atlantia is entry into the group of the best four companies globally present in the “Transportation Infrastructure” sector of the MSCI ACWI index (which tracks thousands of stocks in 48 different countries).
One of the main reasons for the rating improvement is the group’s ability to minimize the impact of its activities on biodiversity, through an efficient and sustainable planning of the methods of use of the territory and through the use of good practices for the comparison with the territorial realities. Significant progress was also recorded on the Governance front.
Atlantia recalls that in April 2022 it was the first Italian company, and one of the few in the world, a submit the decarbonization plan to the vote of the shareholders of its activities, with the aim of eliminating direct CO2 emissions by 2040. Over 98% of shareholders approved the climate action plan.
Among latest awards on the sustainability front there is also the improvement of the ESG rating from C + to B + by Refinitiv, the confirmation of the inclusion in the FTSE4Good index and in the MIB ESG index.
