During the night until Monday, a malfunction led to it being either impossible or very difficult to reach the emergency number 112. What caused the malfunction will now be investigated by SOS Alarm, but the problem of long response times is far from new. In recent months alone, the average response time to the emergency number has increased from the 8 seconds regulated in the company’s agreement with the government to 30 seconds. The supervisory report that MSB submitted to the Ministry of Justice in June states that SOS alarms mostly fulfill the parts of the agreement they have with the state, but “not the alarm agreement’s requirements for response times”.
