MPs adopt a text to increase taxation – LExpress

The National Assembly adopted, this Monday, January 29, at first reading a text to further regulate the “AirBnb” type rental sector, thus hoping to encourage longer-term leases in a context of housing crisis.

The transpartisan text (PS-Renaissance), which will have to be examined in the Senate, was adopted by 100 votes to 25. It plans in particular to lower the tax loophole on this type of housing, to impose energy performance diagnostics on them, but also to give new regulatory tools to mayors.

Many elected officials, particularly by the sea, denounce the shortage of housing in their territories due to the explosion in the number of Airbnbs. They underline more broadly the “social bomb” represented by housing, at a time when the sector is experiencing a serious crisis, and are calling for a “major law”, promised by the executive on the subject. Any announcements made by Prime Minister Gabriel Attal during his general policy declaration on Tuesday in the Assembly will be particularly scrutinized.
