The Green Party KU reports the government for the decision to give the Swedish Migration Agency the task of further tightening the security checks of people who have applied for Swedish citizenship, TV4 reports.
MP’s migration policy spokesperson Annika Hirvonen tells the TV channel that the decision is “completely against the constitution”.
– The government must not interfere in the exercise of individual authority, says Hirvonen.
The Migration Agency tightened the controls last year, but the government wants them to be tightened further in light of the serious security situation and the risk of security-threatening individuals making their way to Sweden, according to TV4.
