MP KU notifies Gunnar Strömmer for the visitation zones

The party believes that the government endangers legal security and may violate the constitution when they rush the introduction of visitation zones, also known as security zones, by shortening the motion time for the bill.

– Gunnar Strömmer wants to signal action and that he is tackling gang crime, but what he is doing is careless, says Rasmus Ling, legal policy spokesperson for the MP, in the press release.

On February 20, the government intends to present a bill on safety zones. There was also a goal of shortening the motion time for the Riksdag from 15 to three days. Something that was blocked by the opposition.

MP: Rising concerns

The MP believes that the constitutional committee should examine whether the readiness of the bill on security zones is compatible with the preparation requirement. The party emphasizes that they consider this to be one in a series of legislative matters where it is being neglected.

– I note with growing concern that this is just one in a series of legislative matters where the government has chosen to deviate from the normal preparation process, says Rasmus Ling.
