Motorola has just unveiled three new smartphones the Edge 30

Motorola has just unveiled three new smartphones: the Edge 30 Neo, the Edge 30 Fusion and the Edge 30 Ultra, a high-end model at less than 900 euros which incorporates the famous 200-megapixel Samsung HP1 sensor.

While all eyes are on Apple and its iPhone 14, Motorola has quietly unveiled its new Edge 30 lineup smartphones for Europe, the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra – Edge X30 Pro in China –, the Edge 30 Fusion and the Edge 30 Neo. It is especially the first that catches the eye, since it is the first mobile to integrate the famous 200-megapixel Samsung HP1 sensor – presented in the fall of 2021. Attractive for photo enthusiasts! And despite its high-end technical sheet, it is still affordable, being below 900 euros. The other two smartphones are placed in the mid-range. All these new models will be released in September.

Motorola Edge 30 Ultra: a high-end technical sheet

From its appearance, the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra appears as a high-end smartphone, with its ultra-thin aluminum edges and a beautiful matte touch on the back. Available in two colors – black and white – it features a 6.7-inch curved OLED screen, in full HD+ and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. The panel is HDR10+ (High Dynamic Range) compatible, which offers a more contrasted, readable and realistic. The Edge 30 Ultra is 8 mm thick and weighs 198 grams, and is fully covered with Gorilla Glass 5 protection to guarantee high impact resistance. Finally, it is compatible with 5 G, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.

On the technical side, it embeds the latest generation Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip – the most efficient SoC on the Android market – with a 3.2 GHz octa-core processor. It has a random access memory (RAM) of 12 GB and a storage space of 256 GB – not expandable by a MicroSD. A very nice set that promises excellent performance in demanding applications and very good daily responsiveness – perfect for running several software or playing a good video game. Two stereo speakers support Dolby Atmos for better sound spatialization. It is IP52 certified, which guarantees protection against dust and water drops – but does not make it waterproof. On the battery side, it has a capacity of 4,620 mAh – compared to 4,800 for the Edge 30 Pro and 5,000 for most competing devices. So a negative point. On the other hand, it offers an ultra fast charge of 125 W – against 68 W for the 30 Pro – and a fast charge of only 7 minutes – according to the manufacturer – thanks to TurboPower ™ technology. Finally, it has fast 50W wireless compatibility.
