Motorcyclist critically injured avoiding crash: Chatham-Kent police

A motorcyclist was critically injured while avoiding a collision in Dover township Thursday afternoon, Chatham-Kent police say.

Emergency crews were called to Pain Court Line and Town Line Road about 3:45 pm after a rider suffered extensive injuries when he dropped his bike to avoid colliding with a vehicle, police said.

He was transported to a Windsor hospital in critical condition, police said.

Pellet gun seized, woman charged

A Chatham resident faces armed charges after a clash between neighbors Thursday, Chatham-Kent police say.

Officers called to Wellington Street East in Chatham learned a woman involved in an ongoing feud with her neighbor, approached the neighbors with a long gun and accused them of theft, police said.

As the argument escalated, the woman allegedly raised and pointed the gun at the neighbors, police said.

Officers arrested a suspect and seized a pellet gun, police said.

A Chatham woman, 40, is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and pointing a firearm, police said. Shed was held pending a lease hearing.
