Motorcycles, ANCMA: September sales up

Motorcycles March registrations down but the first quarter remains positive

(Finance) – It holds the Italian market for motorcycles, scooters and mopeds. The data on registrations for September, released by Confindustria Ancma (National Association of Cycle and Motorcycle Accessories), in fact show a growth in demand by 1.7% to 27.576 units compared to the same month last year.

In September, scooters recorded the best performance with an increase of 3.79% and 14,772 registered vehicles; On the other hand, the motorcycle market is less exciting which, with 11,127 units registered, stops at -0.73%, while mopeds reach parity (+0.36%), which put 1,677 vehicles on the road.

In the first 9 months, sales increased by 5.05%, reaching 300,343 vehicles. The push to the market comes first and foremost from motorcycles, which grew by 7.17% and registered 131,950 units; followed by scooters with an increase of 4.36% and 153,890 registered vehicles; the only negative segment is that of mopeds, which leave 5.36 percentage points equal to 14,503 units.

However, the market trend was opaque zero emissionsthe. In fact, electric two-wheelers also closed the ninth month of the year in negative territory (-23.25%), registering 789 vehicles. Online the cannual figure, which recorded a double-digit loss (-21.99%) equal to 8,098 units.
