(Finance) – After the price of fuel, also the cost of RC auto has started to rise again.8.6% more compared to the beginning of the year. This is what emerges from theanalysis carried out by the Facile.it Observatory on a sample of over 9,100,000 estimates, and relative quotations, collected over the last year.
“During the first half of the year – he explains Andrea Ghizzoni, Insurance managing director of Facile.it. – the trend in motor liability insurance premiums has not been constant, but the upward trend has already begun in April which, according to forecasts, should continue in the coming months. It should be considered not only that many of the discounts put in place by the companies during the pandemic are running out, but also that the costs of claims are rising due to inflation “.
The regional trend – If we compare the average TPL rate for cars in July with that in January, it emerges that the increase was recorded throughout Italy, albeit with different measures. Leading the ranking of the most consistent increases is the Puglia, area where premiums rose by an average of 9.4% in July compared to January 2022. They are followed in the ranking by the Liguria, which last month marked an increase in the average tariff equal to 9.1% and, slightly detached, the Marche (+ 8.9%).
Campania always the most expensive, FVG the cheapest – Looking at the absolute values, once again the Campania is confirmed to be the black jersey of Italy. In July 2022, an average of € 834.26 was required to insure a four-wheeler in the region, which is 79.9% more than the national average. The most expensive areas of the Peninsula follow on the podium, the Calabria, which continues to occupy the second place with an average premium of 526.62 euros, and the Puglia, on the third step with an average value of € 511.14.
If, on the other hand, we consider the regions where it costs less to take out a third party liability insurance policy, the title of the cheapest area in Italy is once again the Friuli Venezia Giulia where in July 2022, an average of € 312.13 was required to insure your four-wheeled vehicle. They follow the Trentino Alto Adigewith a fee of 349.26 euros, and the Lombardy, where the average premium recorded last month was € 354.52.
Ancillary guarantees – Looking at the ancillary guarantees chosen by motorists during the signing phase, it emerges that, among those who entered one, the most requested was roadside assistance, chosen by 40.5% of drivers. The data can also be read in relation to a car fleet that continues to age. In July 2022 the average age of vehicles circulating in our country was just over 11 and a half years, an increase compared to what was recorded 12 months ago (11 years). Although at a great distance, the additional coverage most requested by Italian motorists is followed by the driver accident guarantee (19.3%), legal protection (18%) and theft and fire coverage (10.8%).
