A 51-year-old Wallaceburg man is charged with aggravated assault, uttering death threats and mischief under $5,000 after a family dispute Sunday afternoon on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.
The man allegedly threatened to kill his mother and father, Chatham-Kent police said. He also flipped a glass table top, severely insulting his mother’s leg before throwing her to the ground and causing further injuries.
The man was held in custody at police headquarters pending a bail hearing, police said.
Blenheim man charged in clash over radio
A 64-year-old Blenheim man allegedly threatened a woman with a sledgehammer after she refused to give him money to buy a radio.
The man also threatened to damage items in the woman’s residence on Sherman Street in Blenheim, police said.
He is charged with uttering threats to cause bodily harm, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The man threatened to insult and kill the woman on two previous occasions, police said.
He was released from custody with an Oct. 16 court date.
