A woman has been detained on probable cause on suspicion of murder and attempted murder after the violent act in Vallentuna last Friday.
One child died and another was injured.
– The children are siblings and the person in custody is their mother, says prosecutor Peter Claeson to TV4 Nyheterna.
During Friday, the police were called to a residential area in Vallentuna north of Stockholm due to a serious violent crime.
Later, the police announced that one child died and another was injured in connection with the incident. The children are both under 15 years of age. According to TV4 Nyhetern’s information, a child has been stabbed to death.
On Sunday, a woman was requested to be detained on probable cause on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. Later, a decision was made that the woman should be detained.
Prosecutor Peter Claeson confirms to TV4 Nyheterna that the woman in custody is the mother of the two children.
– The children are siblings and the detainee is their mother, he says.
The prosecutor now has two weeks to bring charges against the woman if this is the case.
