Iris is at a loss. When she heard that there were five municipalities – Bunnik, De Bilt, Utrechtse Heuvelrug, Zeist and Wijk bij Duurstede – that were unable to arrange student transport, she didn’t know where to look. Partly due to problems surrounding the tender, these municipalities were unable to enter into a contract with a new carrier on time. The old contract ends this summer, the new one only starts after the Christmas holidays. That means a ‘gap’ of four months. The families are then left without transportation.
