Half the competition year has passed – and Armand Duplantis has already achieved their goals. It can make the second part of the season more difficult.
– It will be difficult, says Helena Duplantis.

It has been a little over a week since Armand Duplantis picked up three new titles. First, the Swede secured the World Cup gold by being the only one to jump over six meters, then a new championship record and finally he broke his own world record when he flew over the bar at 6.21 meters.

Helena Duplanti’s concern

It’s been a successful week to say the least for our superstar – who has been hugely praised for his efforts. This weekend, among other things, he was on site in Avesta, where he received a plaque dedicated to himself in the square.

Soon, however, it will be time to reload for Armand Duplantis. In just two weeks, a new championship awaits – namely the EC in Munich, Germany. Before that, the Diamond League. But it can be difficult to find the right focus again. That’s what “Mondo’s” mother Helena Duplantis thinks.

– It has been such a physical and mental discharge after the WC. Now he has half the season left. The biggest challenge will be to emotionally recharge mentally. It will be harder than the physical part. Hopefully he can reload, she tells TT.

“Mondo’s” reassuring message

Protagonists agree with their mother. However, the 22-year-old believes that it will be different when he is back on the court.

– Now it is difficult to focus on competitions, just after the WC, where I set the world record. I managed my first goals this year. But when I’m on the court I will do everything, says Armand Duplantis.

He continues:

– I always want to win. It is always possible. When I’m on the court I can give 110 percent. I have enough motivation.
