Mother appeals for information about her missing son

The distraught mother of a 22-year-old man missing for the past month is pleading for people to come forward with information.

Emma Morrison said the last contact she had with her son Brayden Ferrall was a text message on Feb. 18. Brantford police issued a public appeal for information about Ferrall’s whereabouts last week. But he is still missing and as each day passes Morrison said she becomes more frantic with worry.

“There’s nothing worse than not knowing what has become of your child,” Morrison said Saturday. “My heart is breaking more and more every day that he is gone.

“Someone out there has to know something and if you do have information please call police.”

Ferrall is white about 5’10” weighing 175 lbs. with a medium build, short brown hair and a trimmed beard. He was wearing a black winter jacket with fur around the hood when he was last seen. Ferrall was living in Eagle Place prior to his disappearance.

Anyone with information about Ferrall’s whereabouts is asked to call Det. const. Justin Torek, of the Brantford Police Service at 519-756-7050 ext. 2272.

A dedicated tip line has been set up to receive information and can be reached at 519-756-7050 ext 2800 or [email protected] . Callers who wish to remain anonymous can phone Brant-Brantford Crime Stoppers at 519-750-8477 or leave a tip online at https://crimestoppersbb.com/submit-a-tip/ .

Morrison said her son struggles with mental health problems including anxiety. The problem has worsened since January but no matter what was happening in his life, he always maintained contact with her.

“I heard from him every day and he’d always say ‘don’t worry mom,’” Morrison said. “The last thing that he’d ever want is for me to worry.

“That’s what makes this so difficult. He’d never want me to worry.”

Ferrall went to Paris District High School and, as he got older, became passionate about music. He loves listening to it and likes to create it, Morrison said.

“Brayden is kind and loving and always sees the best in people,” Morrison said. “He never judges anyone and is always interested in people’s life stories.

“He makes strong connections to people and cares deeply for those closest to him.”

Still, her son hasn’t been in contact with anyone close to him for more than a month now and that, she said, is completely out of character for him.

She recently put up posters of her missing son in Brantford convenience stores and other locations including some apartment buildings.

“Some people have recognized him but then they can’t really say when it was that they saw him,” Morrison said. “It’s hard for them to pinpoint a time.

“It’s just so hard. I don’t understand how someone can just disappear.”
