There is therefore not much more I can say now” , says the lawyer Öyvind Bratlien in a text message that Norwegian media have taken notice of.

Man refused ambulance – died

A 39-year-old man, native of Skåne, raised the alarm when he suffered a severe headache after a peephole examination earlier in the day. The ambulance personnel who arrived at the scene did not consider the man, who was lying on the floor in pain, to be in need of care and therefore did not take him to hospital.

A few hours later, the man was found dead by his partner and the cause of death is believed to be a brain haemorrhage. The incident has now been reported to the Inspectorate for Care and Care (Ivo).
