Fire at restaurant in Falun

Just before 1 a.m. on Friday, the alarm came about a fully developed fire at an outdoor restaurant in Falun.

Flames from the fire are said to have also reached the town hall which is next door, writes the Falunkuriren.

A larger rescue operation was initiated partly to remove people who were staying near the fire. The police have launched a preliminary investigation into arson, as there appeared to be no natural explanation for the fire.

No one is injured.

Man stabbed in the chest

A man in his 30s was stabbed in the chest near Järntorget in central Gothenburg on Friday night, reports Göteborgs-Posten.

– He is taken to hospital by ambulance. Initially, the injuries were serious but not life-threatening, says Sebastian Börjesson, officer on duty at the police, to the newspaper.

The alarm was received by the police at 01:30. The site has been cordoned off for technical investigation. The incident is being investigated as attempted murder, alternatively extremely serious assault.

Man escaped from hospital

A man who was hospitalized at Sahlgrenska Hospital in Gothenburg became aggressive and left the hospital on Thursday evening, the police write on their website.

When he got out, he allegedly robbed a woman in a nearby parking garage, by stealing her car. The man is said to have then driven away and collided with a house facade in Mölndal, before leaving the scene.

The police are investigating the incidents such as unlawful detention, robbery and contamination from the scene of a traffic accident. No arrests have been made at this time.
