Toxic algae blooms along several coastal strips
The unstable weather that has been ravaging lately has meant that algal blooms, also called cyanobacteria, have not occurred in many places. But new satellite images show that algal blooms, whose toxins can be toxic to both animals and humans and which can cause symptoms such as vomiting, are underway on the coasts adjacent to Gotland, Öland and Blekinge.
If you see algae blooms in the water, you are advised to refrain from swimming.
