Doctors mistook a heart attack for a stomach ulcer

In January 2021, a 65-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to Norra Älvsborg county hospital with pain and discomfort in the upper part of the stomach. Once there, she was referred to a health center as, according to the doctor in charge, the problems were probably due to stomach ulcers.

Four days later, the woman was found dead in her home and according to the autopsy, she died as a result of a heart attack.

Now the Inspectorate for Care and Care (Ivo) is criticizing the doctor, who they believe has failed in his work.
