MORNING: “Autism? I don’t have any problems”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Therese Lindgren, 36, is one of Sweden’s biggest influencers with two million followers on Instagram and YouTube. Although she regularly posts everything about her life on her channels, she rarely allows herself to be interviewed. In “Malou meets” she talks about what it’s like to live with panic attacks, hypochondria, social phobia and a diagnosis of autism. She also talks about her destructive behavior with a lot of alcohol and her despair when she was left by her fiancé Anders. She has opted out of friends and having children and wondered what is wrong with her. But the explanation came when she recently received another diagnosis, autism. – It started a couple of years ago when I went to therapy for my panic disorder. Then this therapist said to me: shouldn’t you be investigated for autism? She said that out of nowhere, says Therese Lindgren. “But I don’t have any problems” She was shocked at first. – Autism? But I have no problems. My image of autism was that you are either like “Rain man” and very intelligent but in very few places and maybe have no social ability at all. That wasn’t me. But it’s a very large spectrum and I didn’t know about that because I had no knowledge, so I just dismissed it, she says. And despite the fact that her company had a turnover of 19 million in 2021 and that she received many awards, she calls herself average. A paradox is that she belongs to the exclusive crowd that has a higher IQ than most and is a member of the association Mensa. In the player above: Therése Lindgren talks about her autism.
