Netflix will be taking them soon German fantasy comedy Chantal in Fairytale Land is on offer. The fairytale-like Fack ju Göhte spin-off with Jella Haase in the title role was very successful in cinemas last year and was seen by 2.5 million people. As far as local film productions are concerned, only one fantasy sequel performed more successfully in 2024.
Bora Dagtekin, who is also behind the Fack ju Göhte film series, directed again and also put the Chantal script on paper.
German fantasy on Netflix: That’s what Chantal in Fairytale Land is about
Chantal Ackermann has finished school and wants to start her professional life as a make-up influencer. The only thing she needs to be successful now are followers. An Instagram contest offers the chance to win an advertising deal with a chewing gum manufacturer. But the filming of her video takes an unimaginable turn when an antique magic mirror transports Chantal and her best friend Zeynep (Gizem Emre) into the fairytale world.
As the fairy Funkelchen (Maria Happel) explains to them, it takes 24 hours until the portal to our world opens again. The best opportunity for Chantal and Zeynep to use the colorful fantasy backdrop for Insta content. But a whole adventure awaits the earthly duo on their journey through fairytale land.
Other roles include Nora Tschirner as the witch Sansara, Maria Ehrich as Princess Amalia and Alexandra Maria Lara and Cooper Dillon as the queen and king of the fairytale land.

When is Chantal in Wonderland coming to Netflix?
The German fairy tale hit will be released in two weeks, on Wednesday January 29, 2025 conjured up in Netflix’s streaming program. The Fack ju Göhte films are also available there. Chantal actress Jella Haase has also been in business with the streaming giant since 2022, as she is also the star of the celebrated agent thriller series Kleo.
