More than twice as much as expected

Ever since Star Wars hit the cinemas in 1977, smuggler rascal Han Solo (Harrison Ford) has had a cult following. This is not least due to its iconic look, which includes his famous blaster. One of the original props from the first Star Wars film has now changed hands for an incredible amount of money.

Han Solo’s Star Wars blaster cost as much as a luxury mansion

This was revealed by auction house Rock Island Auction. According to the report the famous weapon went over the table for 1,057,000 million US dollars and was more than twice as profitable as originally thought. The estimated price before the auction was between $300,000 and $500,000. It is apparently one of three original props of the weapon.

It may not come as a surprise to many Star Wars fans that the affluent among them pay the price of a luxury villa for the piece of film history. After all, it belongs to Han Solo like no other. And is part of one of the most famous Star Wars controversies.

In addition to the immeasurable fan value, the prop is also a testament to the ingenuity of the original Star Wars trilogy. For this purpose, several German Mauser pistols were purchased from the army or from private individuals and modified with components from other equipment. The result should have a used sci-fi look.
