Ramadan is not only a month of reflection, but also of sharing. “Looking after your loved ones, your neighbours, is very important in Islam,” explains Imam Talhaoui. “Not only your nearest neighbours, but also the people in your neighborhood or city.” Looking after neighbors or others does not only happen within the community, but also outside it. “It is unacceptable if you eat alone,” says the imam. And that is why SvAM organizes the joint iftar for all Amersfoorters.
