The earthquake in the central parts of China caused significant destruction, including the collapse of houses.
At least 111 people have died early Tuesday morning local time in an earthquake in central China, according to China’s state news agency Xinhua.
Deaths have been reported at least in Gansu and Qinghai provinces. There are more than 230 injured.
The intensity of the earthquake was 5.9-6.2, depending on the source, and it caused significant destruction, including the collapse of houses. Xinhua reported on Tuesday that the rescue work is still ongoing.
