Separated by more than 800 km and although they were due to give birth to their children two weeks apart, two sisters finally gave birth on the same day. A beautiful end-of-year story for Noémie, Aurélie and their family.
It’s an unusual story that happened to two sisters, Noémie and Aurélie, on December 26, 2023. The two young women, living more than 800 km from each other, gave birth on the same day.
Two babies born the day after Christmas
The original story that happened to these two sisters is reported by France Bleu. Noémie and Aurélie, who respectively live in Cubjac, in the Dordogne and Mons-en-Baroeul, in the North, gave birth on the same day. Their father, Pascal, explains: “Noémie, who was due to give birth on the 25th, entered the Périgueux maternity ward on the 23rd. But the little one didn’t want to come. he explains. She therefore stays in the maternity ward for two days.
A future grandfather who confuses his daughters
On December 26, his daughter called him. “She said to me: grandpa, are you happy? I tell him no, it’s not done yet!” says Pascal, thinking that it is Noémie.
But it is in reality her other daughter, Aurélie, who gave birth to little Emma at three in the morning, although the birth of the child was initially planned for January 7. Noémie, also warned, receives the photos of her little niece and breaks her water in the process. She gave birth to a little Léandre around noon the same day.
A double Christmas present
The two grandchildren of the family were therefore finally born on the same day. For Pascal, the grandfather, this double birth was wanted by the children. “I think they were both expecting” he believes. “That’s why she went so quickly, and why he took his time, they wanted to arrive on the same date” adds her daughter Noémie. An original double Christmas gift, which the family will certainly remember for a long time.
