More than 7K worth of suspected drugs seized in Listowel

Nearly $7,500 worth of illegal drugs were reportedly seized after a search warrant was executed at a residence in Listowel on Thursday, provincial police say.

The search at a home on Argyle Avenue North, executed by Perth County OPP, the Perth County community street crime unit and the West Region emergency response team, resulted in the seizure of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine and hydromorphone, as well as $1,477 in cash and $1,100 of property, police said.

Two people from North Perth, aged 38 and 42, were arrested and charged with several drug-related possession and trafficking offences, police said. One of the accused was charged with failing to comply with a probation order and the other was charged with failing to comply with a release order.

Both accused have been held in custody pending bail hearings, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
