This financial boost has been renewed since June 1. It can help many families in need.

Families know this better than anyone: having one or more children represents a financial cost. Whether it is the childcare solution (nanny, nursery, childminder), food, clothing, school fees, holidays… Added up, all these expenses can quickly weigh heavily, especially for parents who have little means. A reality that pushes some families to review their priorities, and sometimes to give up on certain items of expenditure, such as leisure. This can be the case for sports activities in particular.

Fortunately, there is financial assistance that can give families a helping hand, such as the back-to-school sports allowance, also called Pass’Sport. Since its introduction in 2021 by the State and the Ministry of Sports, this aid has made it possible to finance part or all of a child’s registration in a sports club, sports association or commercial sports leisure structure that is a partner of the scheme.

This subsidy of 50 euros is being renewed again this year for the 2024-2025 school year. It is intended for more than 6.5 million young people, aged 6 to 28 and over, and is valid in more than 85,000 partner clubs throughout the country. And like other financial aid, it is paid under certain conditions.

To obtain it, your child must either have been born between September 16, 2006 and December 31, 2018 and already receive the back-to-school allowance (ARS), or have been born between June 1, 2004 and December 31, 2018 and receive the disabled child education allowance (AEEH), or have been born between September 16, 1993 and December 31, 2008 and receive the disabled adult allowance. They can also claim it if they are a student, aged 28 or over, and if they receive a state higher education grant, annual CROUS aid or a regional grant for health and social training by October 15, 2024 at the latest.

Once the conditions are met, there is no request to make to benefit from it. The allocation is automatic. The services of the Ministry of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games take care of sending an email to eligible young people and families to inform them who are entitled to it. In this email, a unique QR code is assigned to them. It must be presented when registering at the sports club to be able to have the deduction of 50 euros. For this edition, the QR codes have been sent since May 30 to the people concerned. A new round of sending is planned in principle at the end of August. If you have not received your code after several weeks, you can fill out a form on the website www.pass.sports.gouv.fr. In all cases, the Pass’Sport is valid from June 1 to December 31, 2024.
