More than 200 vintage vehicles rolled into Mitchell’s Bay on Saturday for the Antique Car, Truck, Motorcycle and Tractor Show.

The event, hosted by the Mitchell’s Bay Area Association, came back after a two-year pandemic absence.

“It’s just beautiful and the day was so good too,” said Karen Miles, chair of the show, as she looked at the crowd gathered in Mitchell’s Bay Park.

Of the registered vehicles, some were from the London and Windsor areas, she added. Thirty vendors took part as well.

The Bones bike, once owned by daredevil Evel Knievel, known for his death-defying motorcycle jumps, was also on display, along with Ukrainian military sidecars.

Miles said 45 volunteers are involved in the event.

“There is quite a bit of work, and it keeps me busy through the year,” she said with a laugh.

Despite the pandemic causing cancellations, or at least uncertainty, for event organizers everywhere in recent years, Miles said she was “pretty confident” that the show would go ahead.

“Thank goodness, eh?” she added.
