More Swedes have been allowed to leave Gaza over the weekend

So far, a total of around 450 Swedes have crossed the border crossing at Rafah. The Foreign Ministry hopes that more Swedes who have been granted permission will be able to leave Gaza during Sunday.

“We expect that more Swedes will be given the opportunity to leave, but the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not yet been informed of when this can happen. It has previously been possible for a person who has been informed that they can leave on a certain date to leave on a later date,” writes the Foreign Ministry’s press service in an email.

Since October 7, approximately 650 Swedes have expressed an interest in leaving Gaza. Decisions about who is allowed to leave and when it can take place are made by local authorities.
