Windy, snowy and slippery. A new low pressure is on its way over Sweden and Thursday can be quite difficult in several places.

SMHI has issued several snow warnings.

Thursday’s weather looks like it could cause problems in traffic with strong wind, snow and rain.

Already during the night to Thursday, a new low pressure moves in over the west coast and in some places it can get up to a decimetre of snow. However, the snow will turn more into rain and sleet during the morning.

– There could be traffic problems in the form of slipping and snow drifts, says SMHI meteorologist Therese Fougman.

SMHI has issued several yellow warnings for snowfall during Thursday. In addition to western and inner Götaland, snow is expected in Östergötland, Närke and parts of Sörmland. Gävleborg, Härjedalen and southern Jämtland counties will also get snow.

– But there it doesn’t blow as much and it’s not quite the same amount, says Therese Fougman.

The low pressure on Thursday will be replaced by several “small low pressures” during Friday. In Sveland you can count on even more snow.

– But it is probably not a large amount so that there are warnings about it.

FAKTASMHI’s warnings
