More SMS lifeguards are needed in rural areas

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

In 2019, SMS lifesavers were introduced in Östergötland and there are now 7,000 people who can save lives if someone were to suffer a cardiac arrest nearby.

At SOS Alarm in Norrköping, they are satisfied with that, but more are needed outside the cities.

– We would like to become more, of course. More are needed in rural areas. But you’re always just as surprised when you alert SMS lifeguards in the middle of nowhere and someone still shows up, says Patrik Johansson, 112 operator at SOS Alarm.
