Additional aircraft models should be inspected following the incident in which an emergency exit door came loose and left a large hole in mid-flight on a Boeing 737 plane, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) believes.

On an older model of Boeing plane, the same type of door design is used, therefore they should also be inspected for the same type of error, writes BBC News, which refers to a statement from the authority.

It was during a flight between California and Portland with Alaska Airlines in early January that an emergency exit door came loose, leaving a large hole in the aircraft at an altitude of thousands of meters. The plane was forced to make an emergency landing, but no one was injured.
