Zeekr’s M-Vision is one of many concept vehicles that showcase the future of driverless taxi service. The difference is that M-Vision is coming to the US and is part of Waymo’s autonomous taxi fleet.

The vehicle was designed based on the Zeekr SEA-M platform, which has been modified to support the driverless option. The vehicle had to be designed from scratch and had different requirements as it was for the taxi and transport service.

The front swivel seats offer to transform the car into a wheeled conference room, while the interior is used to the last millimeter. We’ve seen this on many concept cars, but M-Vision brings it to the production vehicle.

The overall design is neutral and futuristic enough to age quickly and will remain fresh for many years to come, an essential part for a fleet vehicle. Both the rear and front sliding doors make the interior look spacious and inviting.

While the company has yet to confirm any specifications, the car is expected to travel half a million km in just five years, in expected 16-hour shifts, with 8 hours a day left for charging. Since M-Vision uses existing SEA platform components, we can expect to see the 116 kWh battery from the Zeekr 009 for a robot taxi.

The car has been tested on the roads in Sweden since the beginning of this year, which is expected to be a production version that is not much different from the concept vehicle. The vehicle tested in Sweden appeared to have an AWD drivetrain as it handled deep snow without any issues.
