The patient survey is one of Sweden’s largest and is coordinated by Sweden’s municipalities and regions, SKR. This year’s results were collected in the spring and in general the results for Region Blekinge have fallen slightly compared to the previous survey.
But the Women’s Clinic got better figures than before. More and more patients respond that they feel safe during their visit and that they are treated with compassion and care. Approximately 87 percent have a good overall impression of the care at the various gynecological clinics.
– The result gives an indication that the patients feel better cared for and that we are on the right track. It is the merit of the employees that we can see this trend, says Love Elthammar, director of operations for the women’s clinic.
Several years of work environment problems
The women’s clinic in Blekinge has had problems with the work environment in several ways, including rats and bad air in the premises at Pantarholmen. Love Elthammar believes that the business has worked on improvements in recent years, which is shown in the survey.
– Employees work more in teams today than before. It makes it easier to discuss different issues and get support from each other. I think that can contribute to increased security and better opportunities for the employees to be a good support for the patients, says Love Elthammar.
The response rate for the survey was 53 percent in Blekinge this year.
