Among the municipalities that argue against fireworks are the Utrecht municipalities of Bunnik, Eemnes, Soest, Utrecht, Woerden and Woudenberg. They believe that separate bans per municipality cannot be enforced as long as the sale and possession of certain types of fireworks remains permitted. Mayor Victor Molkenboer of Woerden tells the ANP that he is in favor of a national fireworks ban.
