Around 1:30 pm Friday, officers with the intelligence unit seized more than 1,000 grams of psilocybin, valued at $14,000, from the Fun Guyz store located on St. Clair Street as part of an ongoing investigation, said police.
Signage promoting the illegal sale of psilocybin was also removed from the building, police said.
“It is important to note that the possession, sale, and production of magic mushrooms, psilocybin, and psilocin are illegal in Canada,” police said in the release.
This is the fourth time police have seized large quantities of magic mushrooms from the Fun Guyz store.
The previous times the drugs were seized from the operation when it operated on King Street West in downtown Chatham. In early July, more than 311 packages of psilocybin, worth more than $16,000, were seized as part of an ongoing intelligence section probe, police previously said.

Police also previously seized 514 packages of psilocybin, worth an estimated $32,000, during two searches of the business in early May, according to previous reports.
In late July, police issued a media release reminding the public that magic mushrooms are illegal and police were aware of the new Fun Guyz outlet on St. Clair Street.
The release also noted police will enforce appropriate regulations regarding operation of illegal businesses involving illicit substances.
“Our priority is public safety and community well-being,” police said in the July release.
Police ask residents to avoid engaging in illegal activities and report any suspicious behavior by calling 519-352-234 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
