There are now five to ten beggars on the streets of Amersfoort, who often struggle with addiction and have been in the picture for some time. New is a group of five to ten commuters who travel back and forth between Utrecht and Amersfoort. The municipality also sees more homeless people from surrounding municipalities such as Hilversum, Soest and a little further away, from Zwolle. In addition, just like in Utrecht, there are more asylum seekers who have exhausted their legal remedies and labor migrants from Central and Eastern Europe who have ended up on the streets.
