More green in new inclusive food circle

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The Swedish Food Agency has developed a new, greener version of the food circle, or dietary circle, as it was previously called. Of the seven groups in the circle, there have previously been parts that consisted only of animal products. The new circle has now been supplemented with, among other things, legumes, veggie drinks and tofu. – It is really a step in the right direction. I think it can lead to a better understanding of that type of diet, says restaurant manager Malin Örthagen. The food circle now includes vegan foods in all parts of the circle so that everyone can keep track of their nutritional intake. – We really need to change to a more sustainable way of eating – and then we think it needs to be seen in the food circle as well, says Åsa Brugård Konde, nutritionist at the Swedish Food Agency.
