More female power in the Vatican

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Pope Francis has significantly increased the female workforce in the Vatican – including in high-ranking positions.

That’s according to statistics from the Vatican and independent surveys published in connection with the Pope marking International Women’s Day on Wednesday.

During Francis’s ten years as pope, the percentage of women working in the Vatican has increased from roughly 19 percent in 2013 to roughly 23 percent today. In Kulian – the government of the Holy See that runs the universal Catholic Church – one in four employees is now a woman.
