It will be more expensive to travel by public transport in eleven of the country’s 21 regions next year, according to Sweden’s Radio’s Ekot.
On average, prices are raised by 5 percent.
The regions refer to the global situation with increased costs for, among other things, fuel as the reason for the increases, but also to previous decisions on an annual price adjustment.
A price increase of 10 percent generally leads to a reduction in travel by 4 percent, according to John Hultén, director of Sweden’s national center for public transport (K2).
