– It is a very high booking request because many want to come and visit the island, says Viktoria Andersson, CEO of Clarion hotel Wisby.
According to Statistics Sweden, the price of a hotel room on a weekday has increased by almost 25 percent since April last year. According to Viktoria Andersson, the increase is partly due to prices being kept down during the pandemic and that they are now increasing in line with demand.
– We are starting to get up to the levels we should be up to, which we had before the pandemic.
Almledal Week, which this year will be held on site for the first time in two years, will fill the hotels in week 27. But even after that, it looks like it will be really full.
– Regardless of who you talk to in the industry, on the island or the mainland, it looks very nice, says Viktoria Andersson.
