In a few days, the 6th season of Cobra Kai starts and heralds one of the biggest Netflix events in the history of the streaming service. The final round will be released in three parts. Each part contains five episodes. Netflix has never made such a farewell spectacle out of any of its original series before.
Not only the form of the release sounds epic: the creative minds behind the scenes have also pulled out all the stops to make the Final battle in the dojo as impressive as possible. A very important factor for this is a good, convincing villain. In the sixth season of Cobra Kai, John Kreese is unleashed as a merciless opponent.
Cobra Kai finale on Netflix: In season 6 we get to know the darkest side of John Kreese
At least that’s what co-creator Jon Hurwitz promises in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. It looks like prison has taken a toll on Kreese (Martin Kove). After being humiliated by Johnny (William Zabka) and Daniel (Ralph Macchio), he’s out for revenge.
Hurwitz explains:
The last time Kreese saw Johnny and Daniel, they left him to rot in prison and said some very unkind things on the way out. This John Kreese is not on friendly terms with Johnny and Daniel. He wants to destroy and humiliate them.

Martin Kove as John Kreese in Cobra Kai
In the Cobra Kai finale, fans can expect the toughest version of Kreese:
Kreese has always been pretty tough, but he always had a little soft spot for Johnny. This time this weakness has disappeared. So Kreese is potentially more dangerous than ever.
And he does not come alone:
[Kreese] joins forces with Kim Da-eun [Alicia Hannah-Kim] who wants to impress her grandfather and carry on his traditions. The two have a long history. It will be great to see them work together – great for us as viewers, but not necessarily for Johnny and Daniel.
