The Barka Foundation, an aid organization for homeless EU migrant workers, says the group has grown strongly in the past year. It is now said to be a group of possibly 4000 people, in some cities an increase of 30 to 50 percent in the past year. According to the latest estimates by the Red Cross, 2,500 to 3,000 migrant workers roam the streets. It mainly concerns men from Poland and Romania, the aid organization thinks.
